Due May 06 First Scan Yesterday

Hi ladies! This is a happy happy post! I had my first ultrasound yesterday, and everything is perfect - we could see so much already, and the baby was really active - it spent around a minute wriggling around while we watched. It all seems so real now, there's an actual little person in there!! I'm due on 12th May, four days earlier than we'd originally thought. And I can now finally relax and tell people...I'm past the hairy weeks already, baby is fine, and now I can just get on with enjoying being pregnant without the constant fear of miscarriage! We got two pictures - one is really clear (when the baby was having a rest), and one is of the baby mid-fidget! Sorry for the totally self-involved post...just feel like I want to tell the whole world now. Anyone else feeling like this?

hi!!! congratulations!!!! I am due on the 18th, so I'm not totally homefree yet but had an ecograph last thursday and came back with the same excitement as you did. It was incredible to see the 3cm long thingy moving around, wriggling around with everything there. his arms his legs.. My husband found the image of the heart beating the most exciting. when you look at the screen you see this white thing throbbing.. and it just makes it all so much more real!!! anyway I had tears in my eyes seeing it move around. still feeling sick.. still tired and groggy and moody.. but so exciting!

Congratulations maya!!! It really is so amazing...I can't get over the thought that there's a tiny little living person in there! Baby is 48mm, crown to rump...I know it's only tiny, but that's huge considering how long it's been growing for...I got emotional looking at the scan too. And strangely, my husband was totally fascinated by the heartbeat too. I haven't had hardly any sickness, but I'm extremely tired and grumpy...but also very happy too! I keep getting randomly emotional, especially when looking at the pictures!

I was thinking of scanning the pictures and sending them to some close friends to tell them of the pregnancy.. do you think that would be too cheesy? btw. what continent are you on? since you are still up I am a__suming europe?

Hey, I don't think it's cheesy - we've scanned our pictures and are using them to tell family members and friends who don't live round here. I'm in the UK, it's only 10.30am here. Whereabouts are you?
