Is it safe to use fingernail polish and remover during your first trimester?

yes it's safe! Everything what doesn't have contact with your blood is safe, including dying hair! Women think that those things will harm the baby but it's not true. I'm in a 6th week and I checked with my dr and she said it's ok. Maybe smell of the nailpolish or remover will make you sick, but that is all. Don't worry. How long pregnant are you?

Hi I am 9 weeks pregnant thought id answer why your not suppose to get manicures and pedicures. Its ok to do this at home but not in nail salons because of all the chemicals in the room.Same goes for getting your nails done.good luck in your pregnancies.

hi, according to the website above , there is a link between the use of cosmetics and spontaneous abortion , even mental retardation in babies. The chemicals are absorbed by the skin. I am 9 weeks pregnant and I was looking for some info on the safety of nail polish and nail polish remover.. I've been using it the entire time, not knowing it may be harmful. Now I'm worried... Is anyone out there who been using nail polish during early pregnancy and had a healthy baby? I'll like to hear from you, will give me some peace of mind.. Thank you.
