First U S Just Saw A Gestational Sac

Can anyone give me some hope? I went in for my first sono at around 5-6 weeks (first I don't know why my docotor opted to do one, but anyway) All we saw was a gestational sac (dark circle that measured 9 mm) With my daughter, it was transva___al sono and she showed up with a heartbeat and all at this stage. But this time the doc did a transabdominal one, which is why I suspect the reason for not seeing much. But I can't help but wonder if it's really a viable pregnancy. My sister had 3 blighted ovums, so I'm all too familiar with this experience. Have any of you had an abdominal this early and have the same show up, perhaps with a positive ending?

Hi, I had a sonogram last week at 5w3d. On the abdominal one, all we could see was a sac (sorry I don't know the dimensions) but with the transv____al one, we could see the yolk sac, vague peanut and a definite heartbeat. If you're really concerned, you could ask your doctor to do sequential HCG tests to make sure it's rising.

well when I went for my first U/S I was about 5 weeks if that and nothing was seen abdominally, tranv____ally we saw the gestational sac and it was just 5mm, which I read is good. Sometimes it's just too soon to see anything but the sac...some women see the "bean" and a hearbeat..some don't..it doesn't mean anything at that point...if your hCG levels are rising..it's a good sign.

Thank you ladies I will definitely make sure with my doctor on my next visit on the 12th, I should be 9-10 weeks then, hopefully he can rea__sure me through other means (either blood test, doppler or even sono) so let's see.
