Generic Version Of Zofran For Morning Sickness

I have read several things about taking Zofran for morning sickness. I too, have been extremely sick since about week 6 now being 9 weeks, I have discovered Zofran. While it helps tremendously, especially during work, I have found if I don't take one at 11 am and another 8mg at 5, I will be throwing up my lunch on my way home. I have just realized that I have been taking the Generic version of Zofran. Does anyone know if the generic version is just as safe as the brand, Zofran?

Generic drugs are the exact same formula with a different name. My sister is a Pharmacist. And I myself studied pharmacology for a while. Generics are just cheaper for you. You can request the name brand, but depending on your insurance they can make you pay a lot more for it.

I just started this last night! So far it has worked pretty good, but with my insurance the generic is over $4 a pill, I was wondering if the real stuff would be cheaper, I never thought of that! Good luck to you all, This is my first morning on it and I do have to say I have not felt the urge to throw up all morn. let's hope it keeps it up!

No, the name brand is always more expensive. That is why they make gemerics. Think about it Wal-Mart brand stuff is cheaper than the name brand stuff. My insurance will charge $3.00 for generic and $9.00 for name brand, but if I request name brand and the doctor said I could have generic it'll cost more than that. I have been taking the Unism/ B6 thing, but I'm going to call my doctor to see if there's anything elseI can take b/c this isn't working anymore. Apparently I have "all-day" sickness, morning , noon, and night. :(
