My due date is Oct 30th ... what a great time to have a kid! Anyone else having this same luck?

q - February 23

hey i have my date around same time ..yesterday i got to know for sure frm my blood work i was preg..so my gp said my due date would be 30th oct.. hey i think u can help me out here ..i called my gyn & she told me to do blood test & has called me next week fro ultrasound .did u also do it..i'm just worried will it be v____al one or abdominal..have any idea ..i guess u must be also around 4 to 5 weeks preg as i'm..did u go to ur gyn what did they say...

I already had my fist blood test and will have my second one today. I had an ectopic pregnancy last Nov and I am sure I will have to go for an ultrasound soon. I had v____al ultrasounds done last time, but it depends on doctor's preference. For abdominal ultrasound you will need to drink lots of water, did you set up the apptmt? Do you have to drink water? That will answer your question. BTW v____al u/s are nothing to be worried about, the pole is thin and the movements are not bad at all. Keep me posted. :) Congratulations!

you dont always have to drink lots of water... they made me pee before my ultrasound and we still saw baby perfectly.. i was 11 weeks

All my abdominal utrasounds where done with a full bladder. Not only for pregnancy but for other medical issues as well. In my experience I never had an abdominal ultrasound without a full badder. Lucky you!

Hi Mary! I haven't had my first prenatal visit yet, so I don't have an actual due date per se, but by my calculations, mine should be Oct 30th, also!!!! You say you had your blood tested, at what level was your hcg? Monday morning, mine was at 87. I'm testing again on Friday.

Mary - February 23

Mine was at 256. I ovulated on 2/6. Please, please do not think your levels are low when you compare them to mine. They do not mean much by themselves and every woman develops the serum a bit differently. Congratulations and let's stay in touch, ok? Let me know how the second test came out. :)

Ok, thanks Mary! I must admit that sets off a bit of a red light. Only because I have a history of miscarriage. But I know I need to realize hcg rises at different rates in some women. Heck, I've given that advice myself... telling women not to worry. I guess I need to take that advice, too. But after miscarriages, it's so hard to be 100% optimistic..... at least until this first few weeks is overwith. Thanks girl, and we definitely have to keep in touch. I'll let you know what my next test says. And I hope you will keep me posted too. It will be fun to compare stories. I, too, ovulated about the 6th. Yeah, happy Super Bowl Sunday!! I say that because we had a party that day and I remember having an extra amount of fun because I was ovulating. LOL :o) Baby Dust to you all!! ****

Mary - February 23

Also keep in mind that depending on the lab, results vary significantly too. I had a misscarriage in Nov and my levels were at 50 but I was 6 weeks in (from ovulation date), so I knew they were low. After reading your post I checked the minimum and max HCG for us and they are at 9 to 260 approx, so you are within normal range. Yes ... that was superbowl Sunday! Ha! You know, I felt quick cramps in my lower belly at 1 am on Sunday and told myself - I just started ovulating! I attacked my husband at 9 am cause I knew the timing was right! I was supposed to ovulate on the 7th based on my calendar, but yep it was that Sunday ... I am so glad I listened to my body ... BTW, why do you have to wait a 5 days to test the HCG again? usually it doubles in 2-3 days so that is why I done it on mon and now wed - Doc wants to know if it is doubling. Just curious.

~m~ - February 23

I requested that they let me do it today, but the nurse said the dr. always wants to wait a full 72 hours between tests. And my local clinic where they send the orders is closed tomorrow, so I have to wait until Friday. It's that, or drive an hour and a half (one way) to get it done at my doc's office. I'm in kindof a rural area, and the closest hospital (30 minutes away) is full of horror stories, so I refuse to have a baby there. So I make the long drive to see the doc I've always used. If I get impatient tomorrow, I may just drive on over there. That is highly likely for me! :o) I'll let you know what happens! Thanks for your help!

New poster here. I recently found out I was pregnant as well and I should be due around 10/30/05, based on my calculations. My doctor is not doing my first u/s until around 9 weeks, however, and does not want to see me before then. I have requested an appt. for next week, though, because this is my 1st and I have so many questions right now. Do any of you find it odd that my Doctor is not doing a blood test (I may be able to request one next week)? Is there any other way to check my levels or should I not worry about that at this time. I have not had any bleeding or anything, just some mild cramping, mostly on my right side. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone!

Mary - February 24

q .... I am not sure how to answer your questions regarding the blood type, you may want to start your own question in this board. As you can see from all the women asnwering questions here, doctors deal with pregnancies differently. Some want to see you sooner than others, some do more exams than others. There is no reason to think something is wrong with you in either case. My first time preggo my doctor did not want to see me until my 9th-10th week, until I started having serious pain and bleeding, then it was all a rush-rush of test and procedures. Needless to say, I did not mantain the pregnancy. Now I am being treated as higher risk due my experience. When things are going to work out, nothing will change that. When things are not going to work out, remember that nature is perfect and there is a very good reason for it, so do not try to hold on to something that nature intended not to exist. We all want perfect babies, right? So trust that things will work out when they are right. Congrats to each of you and lets prey for healthy Halloween babies! :)

My HCG levels increased from 248 to 480 from Monday to Wed. Everything so far is normal. I will have another blood test done on Saturday and an u/s next week. :) I think I truly got baby dust from all of you ... thanks :)
