I am 8 wks and have a small chest to begin with. Although I have tons of pain and sensitivity they don't seem that much bigger to me. Anyone else not get bigger bbs right away? I'm not complaining really, I don't mind them being on the small side, just concerned that I keep reading about how much bigger they get and mine haven't...

Thanks for the warning! I was really just wondering when that should start. So many posts that I read talk about that happening within the first few weeks and here I am 8wks and they're no bigger than before, just more tender!

I have really small b___bs to start with too and I just hit 8 wks. and they haven't gotten too much bigger either. I guess that will come later on :)

Thanks for the rea__surance everyone! It sounds silly but I was starting to wonder if I would be able to b___st feed if they weren't growing! well hopefully they'll catch up soon! Is everyone on their first pregnancy? This is my first baby, I mc'd in November. I am forever a___lyizing every symptom or lack of!

Linda - what a great question! I'm about 13 weeks and was a small B to begin with. Now I would say I'm more of a full B but still wearing the same bras, not too much difference. I think if you are smaller to begin with, it will take a little while for any real difference to show up! My mom is built much like me and she said that her bbs didn't grow much for her entire pregnancy, and then when her milk came in, BAM they were huge. :-) Big bbs or little ones, you can nurse anyway so don't worry!

Oh and also Linda - I'm really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. :-( I miscarried in November too (and in June before that) so I know just how you feel. It is hard not to a___lyze everything! I wish you the best in this pregnancy.

Thanks for your input Kim. I should ask my sister too - duh! I know almost every deatail of both her pregnancies but I never thought to ask when her bbs started to grow. She was pretty small to begin with too, but they did get bigger, I just don't remember when. I'm glad there are some women out there who appreciate a little different question. Most of the time it's the same old thing over and over.

And thanks for your sympathy. I'm sorry for your losses too. Were they early into the pregnancy? Mine was at 6 weeks, not that it hurts any less, but it helped me to know that it just never grew, it kind of helped me believe it was genetic and not something I did wrong. Don't misunderstand me, please, it's not that a later mc would be the fault of the mother, but in my own mind I justified it easier knowing the baby just never developed. I think it would have been harder for me to have seen a heartbeat and a developing baby and then lose it. This pregnancy has been so different since I have seen the heartbeat, it gives me confidence that this pregnancy is different from the miscarriage. Good luck to you with this baby. Much sticky dust to you.

Hi Linda - oh I hear you. Miscarriage anytime is just an awful, sad experience. We lost our first one at 8 weeks (I was bleeding, had an ultrasound, and baby was not developing correctly, ie: slow heartbeat, yolk sac 2x too large, gestational sac too small). That one was almost certainly a chromosome abnormality. The second one we got to 9 weeks and then I started bleeding again. But when I had the ultrasound, baby measured well and the heart was beating away. We thought for sure we were home free. But we lost that one a few days later. I have no idea what happened but they guessed it was another chromosome abnormality. I was scared to get pregnant again, but this time all is going well. I rented a doppler for home use and it has been an AWESOME experience. I listen to my little bub's heartbeat every night before I go to bed. :-) What a great sound! Hubby likes it too, as it makes him feel more connected to the baby. I'm so happy for you that you've had a good ultrasound and seen that healthy heartbeat! After that, the chances of miscarriage go way down. So when are you due?

Linda99 - March 28

I'm due 11/4... what about you? I keep hearing about people renting the doppler? Where do you get it, how much does it cost? My sister gave me one that she had from her pregnancies, but it's just a stor bought one that doesn't work until your like 5 months. So it's just taking up space right now. I have my next ob appointment next week and I'm looking forward to hearing that heartbeat again, but how great would it be to hear it every night!

We got great due dates didn't we! Gotta love those cute little fall babies...I'm due 10/5. I got my doppler from Bellybeats.com. I went with the more expensive version (it has a digital read out of the heartbeat so you don't have to count it out). It is $45/month. Totally worth it for me! We started picking up the heartbeat at 9 weeks 5 days (it did take me a couple of days to find it). Have fun at your next appointment! I've got 3 weeks to go til mine and can't wait...will you be finding out the s_x later on?

Linda99 - March 28

We already have so many summer/fall birthdays in our families I was kind of hoping for a spring baby (I'm the only one, in March) The whole rest of both mine and dh's immediate families are from June - December, we just added another one! I'd love for the baby to come close to Halloween since that's mine and dh's favorite time of the year. I would love to have costume parties every year! $45 a month is way too much for me to spend. We're doing our best to say right now, so it's an expense I can't justify. I'll be grateful of that once I'm not working anymore! I guess until then I'll just have to wait until I'm 5 months and can use the one I have! I definitely plan on finding out the s_x, but I don't think we're going to broadcast it around beyond the immediate family. Unfortunately when everyone knows what you're having most of your shower gifts wind up being clothes instead of the things you really need, so we may keep it quiet until then. I might even have to hide it from my MIL! What about tou, are you going to find out?

Kim L - March 28

Totally get it about saving! I'm not going to be returning back to work either after baby comes, so we'll definitely have to be careful with spending. (I should also mention that the standard version doppler on that website is either $20 or $25/month I think. I've heard those work great too). We budgeted for this though because it felt really important to us. :-) At 5 months you'll probably be able to hear AND feel baby so that will be a lot of fun to look forward to! We're not going to be finding out the s_x, we like the surprise. But you know, one of my friends came up with a great idea so you could always try this when someone throws you a shower - ask them to make it a "necessities" shower. She did it and got a TON of diapers, onesies, bath supplies, receiving blankets, baskets, etc...stuff she really needed. Then maybe after the baby arrives, your mom or someone else can throw you a fun baby clothes kind of shower. :-) That's what mine is doing!

Linda99 - March 28

That's a cute idea, but I don't think too many of my relatives would be happy attending two showers! I'll just keep it quiet and then at the shower we can surprise everyone. I'm sure certain people will go out and get us additional gifts but I wouldn't want them to feel obligated to do that. I'd rather just tell people we don't know. My sister was surprised with both her gilrs - drove me nuts!!! That's why I opted to find out. I want to be able to decorate and shop, and green and yellow just don't do it for me! You have a lot more patience then I could ever have! How old are you? I just turned 30 a few eeks ago. :-( I'm hating it!
