Help Getting Sick

I woke up at 4 in the morning with a sore throat. It's been getting worse all day with body aches and a headache. Does it increase the risk of miscarriage or have any physical effects on the baby?

If you have any fever over 100.4 you need to call your doctor ASAP!

Hi Jbentely- no, having a cold does not effect the fetus (I just recovered from a terrible cold myself- started with a sore throat, then it swelled, and then I got a sinus infection). It took almost 2 weeks, but I was able to fight it off naturally. Heather is correct, if you have a fever, you need to lower it asap and get to a dr. You also should ensure that your sore throat is not strep. A simple cold is just a pain in the you know what when you're pregnant. Gargle with hot (tea hot) salt water, and drink alot of water. Hope you feel better soon!
