HEY GIRLS, I WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION. IS BEING ON THE COMPUTER FOR ABOUT 7 HOURS A DAY BAD FOR THE 1ST TRIMESTER??? DOES ANYONE KNOW? I REMEMBER READING ABOUT HOW IT HAS RADIATION LIKE THE MICROWAVE AND IT'S NOT GOOD. THANKS.

Yeah, right, what is your solution then - every pregnant woman should quit her job? For instance, I am a paralegal, and my job is basically computers, phones, paperwork and courts. I know a woman who is a programmer and she works on the computers all days long. She gave birth to three absolutely perfect and healthy children.

Sara, Funny you should ask, as I just read an article about this subject. The only thing you need to worry about being in front of the computer monitor all day is fatigue. Get up and walk around every once in a while, stretch. You will be fine. I read this in the book "what to expect when you are expecting" good luck.

JULIA, I AM A PARALEGAL TOO AND THAT IS WHY I ASKED THAT QUESTION. I FEEL THE SAME WAY SO I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE. I GUESS IT'S HARD WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY RISKS AND PROBLEMS OUT THERE THAT WE MUST DEAL WITH. THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE. CATHY, I HAVE THE BOOK, JUST GOT IT, SO I ONLY READ LIKE 3 PAGES SO I WILL LOOK INTO IT. THANK YOU.

Sara, I perfectly understand your feelings. No offence meant, I just wanted to rea__sure you that working on the computer does not pose any hazards to your baby.

JULIA, I KNOW. NO WORRIES. THANK YOU. HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU? I AM 24, FIRST CHILD, 5 WEEKS AND LIVE IN LA. MY DUE DATE IS ON THE 3RD OF APRIL, GOD WILLING.

Kelly - August 2

Sara, I am right with you. First child, about 5 weeks. My first doctor appointment is next Thursday, but guess my due date is April 1. I get nervous with every little ache and pain....I can't wait until I get past this first trimester. I sit in front of the computer all day long myself and many of the ladies I work with have delivered wonderfully healthy babies. I can't wait to do so myself! good luck.

YEAH ME TOO. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL 2ND TRIMESTER. IT'S GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN. BUT YOU REALLY HAVE TO ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF IT. WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIRST APPOINTMENT? DO YOU KNOW?

The only thing I've read about computers in the first trimester is that sometimes the flashing from a desktop can mess with the nausea centers in your brain and make morning sickness a little worse, I don't think they let off any radiation

Hi, Sara. I am 28, first child. I am 7 weeks 3 days.

SARA - August 3

HELLO. HOW ARE YOU DOING JULIA? ANYTHING NEW? HOW ARE YOU FEELING? HAVE YOU HAD AN U/S DONE ALREADY? HOW WAS IT?

Julia, NYC - August 3

Hi, Sara. I had my first appointment at 6 weeks and saw a baby and a sac. I am going again this Saturday. Hopefully, I will see something more clearly and, perhaps, will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat. I will definitely let you know. In general, I am doing OK though sometimes morning sickness is just too much.

SOUNDS GOOD. LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR DOCTORS APPOINTMENT. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. GOD I AM AT WORK AND DYING TO SLEEP.
