Hi,new moms and experienced moms, I am in my 11+weeks now,and today I heard my baby's heart beat though doppler again, how fantastic! But I do have questions, that my doctor did give me any U/S scanning becuase she said it might not be covered by insurance. what is the standard precedure in US?(I was from Taiwan 10 years agao, and this is my first baby) My insurance is BCBS ppo. Anyone experienced the same thing like me? But I still gonna do NT tomorrow. Does anyone know if this is covered by my insurance? Thanks

usually with a ppo everything should be at least partially covered by your insurance, but i know that there are different levels of blue cross that have all different deductables, etc. call your insurance company to get specifics.

My doc told me that most insurance co's only cover one, some will cover 2. However, if you are a "high risk " pregnancy and "require " closer monitoring they will cover or partially cover more.

You should call the # on you BCBS card and ask them what your plan provides. My plan covered weekly scans up to 8 weeks b/c it was under the infertility coverage. Good luck!

they don't usually give many. with my first baby i had one at 20 weeks. this time around i got one a few days ago to confirm a due date and i think i'm getting another one at 20 weeks and probably that'll be about it.
