I just found out today that I am pregnant. After an unsure First Response test, (the second line was faint) , I took an EPT digital and it said PREGNANT in bold letters. Anyway, I have two questions. The first is, I am currently on Cardizem and Micardis ffor high blood pressure. I assume I should get off of these ASAP but I am worried it will harm me. I know having HBP is a horrible thing to have while pregnant, am I going to be ok? Do docs still prescribe safe drugs to control it? Im so scared about it. Secondly, I am currenlty in between jobs and have no insurance. Are there any programs or clinics that help with people like me? I know Planned Parenthood will help but still charge on a sliding scale. As you can tell, this was not planned but I want to start the necessary steps to a healthy birth Thanks!

Hi, I to have high blood pressure but mine didnt show up till after I was pregnant. They put me on Methlydopa. Also, try checking with the county health department to see which doctor can see you. I wouldnt get off any meds until a doctor says to but you do need to see a doctor asap. Good luck!!!!
