Is Extreme Fatigue Normal

I'm 11 weeks today and I have been exhausted the past few days. My Mom is freaking out b/c she thinks I should have limitless energy. I'm 28 and I have a 10 yr old daughter. I went to Wal-Mart today for about an hour and came home and crshed for about 3 hours. Now it's only 7:30PM and I'm seriously considering going back to bed now. The other day I almost slept all day. Is there something wrong with me?

yes!! completely normal, it will get better around 2nd trimester and then it all comes back 3rd trimester!

It's pretty normal to feel completely exhausted in the first trimester, although it's also possible to need iron supplements because of anemia...do you take a prenatal vitamin that includes iron? Your dr. has probably tested you already for anemia...

There is nothing wrong with you! This is my first pregnancy and i have never felt fatigue like this. I am 12 weeks and it is starting to get better but I swear I could sleep all night, get up, doing nothing, and still be exhausted. Hang in there, it should get better.

If it's any consolation, worst fatigue is usually in the first tri. Most preg women report having more energy later. But yes, fatigue is normal. Last preg I had to take a nap almost every evening after work around 7:30. Was too tired to eat dinner. This time around it varies from day to day.

I was NEVER this tired w/ my first. I think I think I need to reverse this whole 24 hour deal.... You know... we sleep for 8 hours and are awake for 16 hours.... I think it needs to be the other way around! Lets sleep for 16 hours and stay up for 8. :)

I pretty much do that anyway. :)

You are TOTALLY normal. I felt the same way up until 12 weeks or so. So far in the second trimester I have felt the "limitless energy" your mother talked about and I would not exactly call it limitless as much as I feel like I did before my BFP. It gets better!!

With my first I pretty much felt I was hit by a bus. Luckily, I was able to stay home but I was awake for about 2 hours before I'd have to lay back down, and I'd stay crashed on the couch the rest of the day. Couldn't walk around for ten minutes without feeling exhausted. This one is a bit easier, but I'm in the 2nd trimester and still feeling tired.

I agree with lmk. I thought my exhaustion was completely normal but once I found out I was anemic and my doctor put me on iron supplements my energy went up tremendously. Have you been tested yet? I can't even remember how many weeks you are when you have your first blood test. Just ask your doc. Maybe its normal, but maybe its not.
