Is It Okay To Take Pepcid

Hi all! I was just wondering if it is okay to take pepcid in the first trimester? I am really wanting to try it, as I hear it helps reduce stomach acid, which can cause nausea. I won't be able to ask my doctor until Monday, but I have a normal pregnancy. Any one have any advice? Thanks!

I would wait and talk to your doctor to be sure. I have looked it up on two different sites, and one says it is safe and the other says use it only if considered essential by your doctor. I'm sure it is probably okay, but I would ask first. It is better to be safe than sorry and you only have two days to wait.

Oh, I forgot. This drug does cross the placenta.

Try tums - November 12

You might want to try tums. They are for sure safe for the fetus.

I took prilosec my whole pregnancy for acid reflux. My doc said it was okay, but I ahd been on it for years. You would want to check with your doc first
