Is It Safe To Lose Weight

I am 13 weeks. I was a smoker, quit the day I found out I was pregnant (which was 3 days before af due). To compensate for smoking and of course my increase in appet_te, I gained 7 pounds by week 10. Since I got that horrific news (thinking if I stayed on that track I would put on 70 pounds), I've started eating much healthier, I am continuing to exercise (I have done pilates for 2 years - so I switched to pilates for preg. and I ride stationary bike 30 minutes a day). I noticed in the last 3 weeks, I've lost 3 of the 7 pounds I gained. Is this normal? I have noticed the weight is coming off my thighs and rear. I have heard that people lose weight from morning sickness, but I've had none of that.

I am not sure on that one. Might want to ask your doctor.

I think that as long as you are continuing to eat (healthy as possible) and taking your prenatal, you should be okay. In my opinion it isn't anything to worry about. Now if you lost like 10 pounds in a week or two, you might be concerned, but not with 3 in 3 weeks. Still, to be safe, I would check with your doctor.

I had nausea with my 3rd pregnancy and i only gained a total of 12 pounds. at some appts i had actually lost like 5 pounds here and there. my baby was completely healthy and i weighed less after his birth than what i was when i got pregnant so that was a plus.
