Little White Quot Tadpole Quot

I just had an ultrasound and am believed to be 5 or 6 weeks. I saw a tiny white thing that looked like a tadpole--it was kinda squirming around. The Dr. just said he was looking for a white spot, so wondering if anyone knows if the embryo should look like this, and if what I saw was that?! I have looked all over line, but some really strange things come up when you type in "ultrasound at 5 weeks showed a small white thing moving around" Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't be alarmed. It seems like youre pretty early, so you prolly won't see much. Give it a few more weeks & your next U/S I know you'll see more =)

did anyone see anything like this, or know what the "wiggly" image was that we saw?

Yes, normal. You are lucky you saw something, because a lot of people don't see anything since the baby is soooo small at that stage. Most people just see a sac and a fetal pole. Embryos look kind of like shrimp for the first little while and the head is much larger than the rest of the body. Don't be worried, sounds like everything is going along great!

So IS that little flicker/squirm in fact the heart beat? My dr. didn't really tell, and I was so overwhelmed and frazzled after the exam with a new Dr. , that I didn't ask exactly what that was. I am dying to know. I go for anther U/S next week, and hoepfully they will see more. My LMP was 11/30, so based on that I should be 8 weeks and some days, but he didn't see much?! I am so confused

I'm guessing the squirm was your baby. You wouldn't believe how much they wiggle around in there. When I had my 11 week u/s, our baby was doing the can can! Arms and legs going nuts. You've got to relax...it is just too early to see much.
