Lower Back Pain In Early Pregnancy

i just found out that I'm pregnant on Tuesday when i took 3 tests at home because i didn't believe the first one! LOL..im sure im not the only one... Anyways my obgyn appt isnt until next monday so I'm completely full of questions and concerns... I'm probably only about 5 weeks now since my last period was dec 2nd. I was wondering if at this early stage if its common to have significant lower back pain? it is quite uncomfortable..in fact im sitting here at work and just cant stand sitting in my chair. On a side note..I went to the ER yesterday to check for a kidney infection since I was peeing every 5 min and had a really sore spot on my right back and my cervix was closed, thats all they checked and honestly...it means nothing to me right now since I dont understand any of it yet, i guess that means i didnt miscarry?... this is my first pregnancy and though i wish i could ask my mom about this stuff since she had 7 of us sadly she passed away last year... Anyone know if this is normal to be this uncomfortable or should I take this to the worry wart section? :)

oh and also...no infection...guess that peeing every few minutes is truly a common part of the joy of pregnancy

I am sure you are fine...most docs don't see patients until they are at least 7 weeks along. Did your doc confirm the hpt w/ a blood test? if not, you want to consider asking...as for the back pain, a lot of women have lower back pain in early pregnancy, that is quite common...hope that helps...

OK, thank you so much! This pregnancy is a blessing but such a worry as well...I just want to have a healthy baby so badly. The hospital took a blood test but they hurried me out of there as soon as it was drawn before telling me the results, they just said if anything else happens then they have a baseline...do you think I should call them back and ask the hcg levels?
