Measuring 8 Weeks Ahead

What is the most likely reason to be measuring 8 weeks ahead in the first trimester? First appointment this afternoon, 11 weeks 5 days today, but the midwife said it was actually measuring 20 weeks. It's not unusual for 2nd pregnancies to measure bigger but EIGHT weeks? I'm quite certain of the dates, unless it's possible to be pregnant, get a negative result on the pregnancy test AND have your period while actually being pregnant. Ultrasound tomorrow but just trying to prepare for the most likely explanation. TIA, Xoar

Do you mean measuring ahead by using the tape measurer on your stomach or by ultrasound? Very interesting? I have no idea what would have caused that. Let us know what they say.

Measuring based on fundal height. The midwife said that at 12 weeks the fundus should just be peeking out above the pubic bone but it's WAY higher. She said if it was a little bigger then it would be easy to explain as being because it's the 2nd pregnancy or just that every pregnancy is different but it's significantly higher, enough that she recommended an ultrasound knowing our preference not to have one unless needed. She did stress several times that "it's probably nothing" but just to be sure scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow (which will be the first one). I can't find anything official listing the most likely reasons to be measuring so big. It could be nothing or that the dates are way off and AF wasn't really AF, or something like a fibroid (?), or excess amniotic fluid? or twins?
