Mice Droppings

I was shocked to see mice in my kitchen, there was a hole under the sink where they can enter from outside so my husband fixed it. But the problem is I cleaned the mice droppings and I didn't know I am pregnant. I was 3 weeks pregnant that time or just 1 week after ovulation. I'm scared coz I heared about some kind of sickness that the fetus might get. Does anybody has this experience?

It happens a lot that people do things they shouldn't before they know they are pregnant. There is a small chance it could harm something, but at that early, chances are that if it did any damage you would have miscarried already.

If you are referring to Toxoplasmosis you usually get that from kitty litter. So if you have a cat let your husband clean the litter box. I wouldnt worry though at all. Before I knew I was pregnant I was still smoking and having an occasional drink and everything is fine. Besides when the egg gets fertilized it makes a long journey down the fallopian tube into your uterus which actually takes about 7-10 days to get to your uterus. So chances are the embryo hadnt even inplanted itself when you cleaned it up. Dont sweat it. :)

You can also contract toxoplasmosis from mouse droppings, and many people don't realize that gardening can be a risk because of mouse, rat or cat feces that can be there. Anyway, you are probably fine as long as you washed your hands after cleaning the droppings.
