I am having a midwife, my first appointment is Jan 6th. My friend had a midwife and has nothing but good things to say. Midwives inform you of everything and go more in depth about your pregnancy than doctors do. A midwife's job is babies so it's their main priority. Also, they don't push epidurals and c-sections on you like doctors do, they encourage natural births in comfortable settings. You can still have an epidural if you want of course :) Also, you can have a home birth or a hospital birth if you want. I'm planning on having a natural hospital birth, that's the plan anyway, we'll see how I do when the pain kicks in haha. Basically you don't need to see a doctor if you want a midwife, they are with you from start to finish and stay postpartum. I am in Canada so that's how it works here anyway, maybe it's different in the united states but I'm sure it's the same basics. Definitely worth looking into :)
