Nausea And Tiredness

I am 5 weeks pregnant and I've really been so nauseated. I get hungary but I can't stand the smell of anything so I end up forcing myself to eat a meal a day. I also get very tired and it's difficult for me to sleep. What do I do?

Theres not much you can do but wait it out. Saltine crackers helped me a little and try eating ginger cookies or ginger ale, ginger is good for nausea. They say to eat six small meals rather than 3 big meals a day. Take your prenatal before bed and not during the day they make me sick if I don't. They do have these things called sea bands, they are bracelets for your wrist which press on certain acupressure points and are suppose to relieve sickness. I think you have to get a script from your Dr. for these. There is nothing you can do about being tired other that get as much rest as you can even if it is a 10 minute nap.

Your doctor can prescribe something for the nausea, if your open to that.I was really sick from about week 6 to my ninth week. The only thing that helped was the anti-emetics. Some also contain a sedative that can help you sleep. It is considered safe through pregnancy. All the other stuff they say that helps, like ginger, crackers, small meals etc, didn't do anything to help me. I guess if you have mild nausea that could help, but if its pretty intense or you start vomiting I would suggest talking to your OB about a prescription.

I bought sea bands at my local CVS. They are helping amazingly so far, but I'm in the early days yet! (4.2 weeks.) Last time I had some success with Altoids Sours candy or potato chips (not together!) Some of the other suggestions I read about almost made me sick just imagining eating them, so I think everyone's different... just keep trying things and hopefully you'll find what works for you. I also have insomnia- I can't sleep and then I wake up in the middle of the night, so I can't help you with that one. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

It's my 6th week. Spent last two weeks feeling hungry and weak, but all food stank and made me nauseous. But I tried drinking tea today and added fresh ginger to it (about 1/2 tbsp when crushed). Today for the first time, I did not gag at the smell of food and had a proper meal. Ginger rocks!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and have been just starting to feel pretty naseous. All I can eat (and I'm hungry) is bread basically. No meat and veggies (which is what I should be eating) I'm craving pizza and milkshakes and then when I eat anything greasy I feel like I'm going to throw up. I have to start "grazing" but this is hard. I used to not eat all day and then drink wine and have dinner at night. So, big changes for me. I've been having headaches too. Carbonated water has been helping.
