I am so nervous! I am nine weeks and two days and I never ate well--the pregnancy was unplanned!! I used to have chips for dinner!! Now, I m so nervous because everything I read says that I may have low folic acid levels. I am 32--that's almost a dangerous age. I don't know what to do...am very nervous! Can anyone help to ease my worries!!

Try not to panic, have you spoken to your doctor about this? You need to make sure you are taking antenatal vitamins now especially folic acid. It's never to late to start eating healthly, some women go months without knowing that they are pregnant. It happened to a friends mum, she was 6 months before she found out, she was 15 years old and had periods for the first 6 months - the had a perfectly healthy baby! I don't think you've got anything to worry about regarding your age! Talk to your doctor to easy your worries - good luck =)

First off CONGRATS- you are still young and in my opinion, a perfect age to start a family!!! Take your vitamins religiously and start eating as healthy as you can. Thankfully your baby is still very, very tiny so turn over a new leaf and change your eating. Great luck and relax.:)

Thanks--I am eating healthy these days. I am just so worried because there are certain stages of development and may have missed the boat already. The doctor says not to worry, but who doesn't worry about the health of thier child? I do feel better though. Thanks!!

Lots and lots of normal babies are born without their mothers taking folic acid. The chances of an abnormal baby are already low (even at 32), and taking the folic acid (vitamins etc) simply make the chances lower! Try not to panic, and take care of yourself from here on out!
