I am 5.5 weeks pregnant and have a needle like pain in my ovaries...or at least that's where it feels like I'm having this sensation. Has anyone ever felt this?

I am 6 wks pregnant and have alot of feeling in the lower abdomen, like you described, My first pregnancy 10 years ago I had the same feelings and had a very healthy pregnancy, your body is probably making room for the baby, so it can be a little crampy every now and than, I worry when I cant feel anything which is not to frequent, goodluck.

Thanks for your response and congratulations! Just from reading the postings, a lot of other women are experiencing "weird" sensations. Since this is my first pregnancy, I'm just trying to find out what's normal and what's not. Thanks again.

this is normal its your uterus stretching and it can be very uncomfertable

Is the baby inside of my ovaries? Or where is he?

Generally I would not say this but everyone needs to be a little careful with there opinions. Although it is normal to feel cramping in you lower abdomen and such it can also represent a problem. I am on my 3rd pregnancy, the first two went very well. I have had cramping and pain in my lower abdomen this time and come to find out I have a large cyst on my left ovary which can be very dangerous. Always call your doctor and if you are still concerned ask them to send you for a sonogram, I went for my first at 5 weeks, most doctors dont mind giving you an extra one just to ease your concerns.

I am about 7 wks pregnant and have had some cramp-like pains in my lower abdomen. Fortunately so far I've had no bleeding. I've had a miscarriage before so like most of you, I've been concerned about these pains. The doctors have a__sured me that this is quite normal and not to worry unless the pain is very extreme or there is bleeding.

It could be a cyst on your ovary. This can sometimes happen when you ovulate. They can be there for sometime and you not even know it. They also can continue to grow for long periods of time. I personally have a history of ovarian cysts and have had 2 the size of a grapefruit removed from my left ovary. They are definately something that should be checked as they contain a toxic fluid if they burst. The doctor can do an u/s to determine if you have one or several. Shooting pain in the area is a sign that I have for them.
