my doctor gave me prima care one for a vitamin. i am also seeing a holistic chiropracter that has been helping me with my headaches. he told me that the vitamin i was taking was "garbage" and i was "poisining my baby." it has dyes, and trans fats in it. he told me i should be taking catalyn. (which is not even a pre-natal vitamin, just a multi-vitamin. does anyone know anything about either one of these? now i'm scared to take anything!!!

Honestly, I would trust a board certified medical doctor before I trust a "holistic chiropracter". I say stick with the doctor suggestions...

I am supposed to be taking the same vitamin but it makes so sick. I gag whenever I look at the box... no kidding! Instead, I am taking two flintstones and every once in a while I sneak in one of those primacare when I am feeling alright. My doc said it was better to take a flintstone and not be sick than to take the prenatal and not be able to eat anything!

your OB/GYN has different training than your chiropractor. Not to mention that since you are pregnant your body needs a different amount of certain vitamins now, which a prenatal will provide but not a multivitamin. Kristinn, getting sick off of your prenatals is a common complaint. Many women switch to taking two regular flinstones a day.

i would go with the regular Dr. holistic Dr's can be really good sometimes but your obgyn knows what is ok for your baby, they wouldn't give you anything that would hurt you. these other vitamins might not have enough of what you need now.
