Pregnancy And Insect Repellent

Does anyone know anything about bug spray/lotion and pregnancy? I'm not sure what kinds (if any) are safe. I've heard that anything with DEET in it may be harmful, but I'd just like some advice. Thanks!

The CDC site says more harm can come from not wearing insect repellent and getting West Nile than from wearing the repellent. My dr says you need repellent at certain times and to wear what a pediatrician would recommend for children. My pediatrician recommends Family Off with less than 10% DEET in it for my kids. This is what I use when I need it. You can also do a lot of good by wearing lightweight sleeves and pants and spraying your clothes down with the repellent. Dr said the same for sunscreen. Use the pediatric version.

avon makes a product called skin so soft. it keeps bug away and is deet free. they also sell some bug sprays that are deet free. if you can't find one. do what the pp sid and wear light clothes and spray them. also shower once you copme inside that way the spray is not sitting on your body more then needed.
