Prenatal Vitamin Question

so, when i was pregnant with my daughter, i tried to take the prescribed vitamins, but they made me so sick to my stomache, i could't stand it. so i doubled up on a store brand and took extra folic acid. this time i was allready taking the original womens one a day vitamins and i plan to finish the bottle before i move on to prenatals. i am also taking an extra 800mg of folic acid and 600mg of calcium everyday. i guess i was just wondering how many are taking the prescribed and how many are taking something else.

with my daughter the ones from the doctor made me so sick so i went to walmart and got a big bottle of spring vally prenatal i only took one a day, and the doctor said that was fine. now that i am ttc number 2 i am just taking a daily dose of folic acid until i find out i am pregnant then i will switch to prenatals

Over-The-Counter prenatals work just as well as prescription, but some women would prefer a prescription. It sounds like you're getting what you need from the one-a-days anyway. I have over-the-counter, but I'm going to buy some flinstones because I can't stomach the prenatals.

hi! my Dr gave me a prescription with just calcium, b6 and folic acid for right now because of my morning sickness. i think it is better. i have read that iron supplements can make morning sickness worse too.
