Question About Soda

I am 8 weeks pregnant, and have pretty bad nausea. I am not able to eat some foods right now b/c it makes me sick (unfortunately most are healthy foods that make me sick). I am eating allot of foods out, but I get allot of salads, and try to stick with slightly healthier options. The only problem is.....I get super nauseated if I dont sip on soda!! I am getting the caffiene free sodas like sprite...and I dont drink diet b/c of the aspartame. Pre pregnancy I only drank like 3 sodas a week. Now I am drinking like 2 or 3 a day b/c its all I can do to make me feel better. If I drink too much water I get close to throwing up, and I cant drink OJ either. I dont want to drink that many sodas, but for anyone who has nausea as bad as I do......you know you will do anything to keep it down. does anyone else have this problem??

Drinking soda is ok... if done in moderation. I have found that I also love soda in pregnancy. I was only drinking like one a week pre-pregnancy, but would love it every day now! I have cut back to having soda once a week again (as well as juice) because I've been gaining weight too quickly. My doctor says to stop with the soda and juice... the weight will sneak up on you. So, if you don't want to gain 60 lbs, stop with the soda. I know it is hard. When I went through a "gagging" period, I found that sucking on lemon drops helped me. Not a lot of sugar in those... and the sour taste helped. I am 32 weeks right now.
