Okay, so I keep seeing all these ads in my pregnancy magazines advertising the rental of Dopplers so you can hear the baby's heartbeat. If you've rented one before...were you happy with it? Could you always hear the heartbeat? And at what week can you start hearing it? Thanks!!!

Hi Andi. I actually ended up buying a doppler - they aren't very expensive, espcially if this is your first baby and you plan on using it again for a second or third. I bought the Hi Bebe doppler for about $150 Canadian dollars. I got it when I was 12 weeks pregnant, and I was able to find the heartbeat right from the start. I would highly recommend getting one - they are great!

I also bought the hi bebe (amazon.com) for $115 and LOVE it. I was able to hear the hb at 10 weeks but it was very difficult for me at first. After 12 weeks I was able to find it much easier and now at 19 weeks it takes me between 5-10 seconds to find. I can also hear the baby move all around which is awsome since I haven't been able to exactly feel movement yet. Good luck!!!

I have a cheapo that a friend gave me and I hate it. I was so excited to use it but it ended up scaring me most of the time because I had such a hard time finding the heartbeat. I would freak out because I couldn't find it. I ended up throwing it away. It wasn't worth the worries. I'm guessing the expensive ones are alot different though.

i wanted to get one but i think after going to the Dr and having the Dr use a doppler on me, it took him about 20 seconds to find the HB but then there was still a lot of static and it would worry me! i think i am not going to get one.
