I was wondering if any one had any good remedies for acid reflux/heartburn and if you know if it is suppose to get better - I am 10 1/2 weeks. I have never had heart burn in my life and now it won't go away. My mouth feels so acidic it is gross. I usually throw up if I drink milk and tums only help while I have them in my mouth. I have the list of foods to avoid and have been avoiding most. Any helpeatly appreciated.

Hi. U can ask ur doctor if u can take zantac, maybe the min. dose of 75mg. I was okayed to take it. I don't take it all the time, but I take it b4 bedtime. MIlk works for me too for heartburn. Tums tastes gross to me right now too. Basically I also watch what i eat, no fried stuff and I elevate my head at night and not eat at least 3 hrs before bedtime.

I had really bad heartburn as well. I had to take prescription zantac but I don't think they will give it to you until 2nd trimester. Also I found gaviscon chewables worked well. Also chocolate, spice , tomatoes and caffeine will really aggravate it. I also started elevating the head of my bed. By the end of my pregnancy I was sleeping staight up. Good Luck and have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

I took Zantac at the beginning of my pregnancy and it didn't do anything. My dr ok'd me to take Prilosec OTC and it's great.

Hi I just ate gaviscon when ever I had heartburn. I slept with a bottle every night on my pillow b/c I would wake up at night with horrible heartburn. Sorry to hear you have it. I think it was the worst side effect I had it constantly. Good lUck and talk with your doctor.
