RH Factor Test Some Questions Please

I am 3 months pregnant and went for routine blood work an hour ago. The test was to see if the RH factor was positive or negative...well, the nurse took 10 tubes of blood for this test. Is that normal to take that many tubes of blood? I only ask because I passed out and got dizzy and the room started spinning. The nurses said they didn't know what that happened to me...but I question why they had to take so many tubes. Can anyone shed some light on this subject???? It would greatly be appreciated.THANK YOU!!!

Jenifer, That is absolutley normal for them to take that many tubes of blood. They did the same to me in the begining. They are not only just testing your RH factor but many other things. They are checking for Aids, your HCG levels and much more. So do not worry. Its normal procedure.

I must admit I was very surprised that you said they took 10 tubes. I have never heard of that. The most I've ever had taken from me is 2 tubes. I am 32 weeks pregnant and have never had that much taken. Not even close. It is not surprising that you almost fainted. I guess they should know what they are doing though.

They took 8 tubes from me. I think some doctors are just more precautiocious than others. Just ask next time you go to confirm.
