Safe To Paint While Pregnant

My boyfriend is going away for the weekend and I had planned on painting our bedroom. I'm sick of being in a drab, dirty room. Anyhow, I didn't even think that it might not be safe? Has anyone got the go ahead to paint from their doc? I'm 12 weeks. I know my boyfriend won't paint it when he gets back, so I'm stuck sort of.

Hi, Megan P! Congrats on the little one!! Honestly I would not paint. I have been doing a lot of research on the internet and reading a few books and it was mentioned not to be around paint...maybe something from the fumes! Hun......get your boyfriend to paint that for you.......your pregnant!!!!

Sorry, I'm going to disagree with erin25 (love the name!!). I painted the entire house while I was pregnant. I used Fume Free paint for the upstairs, and just madesure the house was very well ventilated. I was5 months when we did the upstairs, and 7months when I painted the downstairs. The only thing I didn't do was celings, or cutting in. I was far too big by then!! Don't be afraid to ask for help though. Won't friends come and help you?? BTW, my daughter was born happy, and perfectly healthy.
