FISH TO LIMIT TO 6 6OZ SERVINGS A MONTH ARE: CARP, CRAB, SNAPPER, HERRING, MONKFISH, PERCH, SKATE, COD, CANNED LIGHT TUNA, FRESH PACIFIC ALBACORE TUNA. fish you can eat are: anchovies, b___terfish, calamari, caviar, king crab, pollock, catfish, whitefish, scallops, flounder, haddock, hake, herring, shad, sole, crayfish, salmon, shrimp, clams, trout, tilapia, sardines. I AM NOT SURE BUT I THINK YOU ARE MEANT TO AVOID SHELLFISH SUCH AS PRAWNS AND OYSTERS AS IF NOT COOKED THEY CAN CARRY A BACTERIA ON THEM WHICH IS HARMFUL TO YOUR BABY.

My dr said no more than 12 ozs a week. No tuna steak (tuna in can ok). Everything should be well cooked.

My doctor said no shellfish at all, especially shrimp because they are not cooked long enough to eliminate any dangerous bacteria. I say, why take the chance, it's only for a few months anyway! And a few months is nothing compared to a lifetime of misery if something did turn out to be wrong with my baby. I'd forever wonder if I'd done something to cause it. For those of you who don't have kids yet...you'll soon be finding out what parental guilt is all about, lol.
