Should Be This Tired

I am in my 7th week of pregnancy, and for the last couple of days I have been experiencing severe exhaustion. So much, that I'm finding it hard to get out of bed. This is out of the ordinary for me, I usually have lots of energy. I'm eating right and exercising when I can, but I still feel very sleepy. Is this normal or should I be alarmed?

Hi Jules. I feel the same way. I am just over 6wks and I am totally exhausted. I find myself in bed at 7pm which is out of the ordinary for me. I cleaned the house yesterday and thought I was going to faint. I had to sit down for an hour or so afterwards. I've not had any energy to exercise at all which is scary because I want to avoid gaining extra pounds. I wouldn't be alarmed if I were you, from what I've read, it's very normal as your body adjusts.

That is so normal, I had extreme fatigue going on, that is one of the most tiring phases of being pg. One thing that causes the most fatigue is when your body is making the placenta, you have to remember your body is making an organ with that, and you're also growing another person. I was really tired sleeping like 10-12 hrs a night. I've also read and heard it's like being on a strenuous hike 24/7 you don't get a real break. It get's better in the 2nd tri, I'm @ 24 wks. and starting to feel a little more tired because of my changing body. Good luck with your pregnancy.

I'm at 8 weeks and also super tired. I took 3 naps on Sat.! I think that could be a record for me. I have had to lay my head down at work a few times :) Everyone swears it gets better so I guess we just wait and see....

Severe exhaustion is normal. I'm at week 14 & I still get really tired but weeks 7-11 were the worst! One Saturday, I had woken up from about 10 hours of sleep, then a few hours later went back to sleep for a 3 or 4 hour nap!!

I am convinced that the only reason I actually wake up in the morning is due to the fact that I have to pee and I am STARVING!! Otherwise I would sleep forever ha ha!! :) The people who don't know that I am pregnant yet are starting to notice my fatigue!!

Oh the peeing was annoying!! I'd be exhausted but have to get up anyway to pee!

I started feeling completely exhausted last week (at 7 weeks). I haven't felt up to exercising since then because I've been feeling dizzy on top of the tiredness. I feel like I've been growing 6 or 7 of these things inside me instead of just one. :-)

Thanks for all the responses. Is there anything that I can do or take(that won'e hurt the baby) to help me feel better. I can barely get through work.
