Is this normal? The clinic said it's standard that they won't see me for my first appointment until I'm 8-10 weeks a long. I just feel like I have to wait so long to see them, Feb. 18th is my appointment. Am I suppose to be on any vitamins right now??

that is very normal - I didn't see my doctor until I was 14 weeks - there isn't much they can do and not to freak you out they make sure you get past the 6 week mark without complications - you can shop around for another doctor of course - my first appointment was very uneventful - I peed in a cup they weighed me asked me if I had any bleeding and that's it - you can totally start prenatals right away they have them walmart target very reasonable I'd pick up some folic acid too that helps with early development - Good luck - don't worry - I am sure all is fine

It depends on the doctor. Mine is sooo nice and lets me come weekly bc im scared of another miscarriage. So I am now 9 weeks and have had 4 sonograms. But alot of doctors wont see you until after you are in the 8th week bc so many miscarriages happen before then that cant be helped. But you should already start on prenatals. I take mine at night so they dont make me sick. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much about not being seen, because they won't do much right away other than confirm your pregnancy. But I would call the Dr's office and ask for a prescription for prenatals. You can buy them over the counter, but the prescription ones are better regulated and contain more folic acid (1000mg vs. 800 in OTCs). Happy pregnancy!
