Speed Walking

Hello everyone. I am new to this room but I have not graduated from pregnancy 'signs' yet... :) however I am hoping to. I am ttc and if I am I would be almost one month. What is a very pronounced thing for me is I have that infamous "metallic taste" that won't go away- sorta like a very bitter annoying taste my saliva has just taken on. Also, mild headaches daily and slight nausea all day. But what is also happening is something different so I thought you soon to be mommies can (hopefully) relate? I work in NYC and everyday I get off the express bus and SPEED walk to work. Now I can't. I don't feel tired, per se but I feel by body has no ENERGY and what stands out very much is I feel I physcially CANT. As if my stomach has this fullness feeling and if I walk fast I get like a pulled muscle feeling and it feels like physcially heavy holding me down in the cant walk fast sense. Does this make sense? Maybe in conjunction with the rest? I dunno. Please let me know if any of you share. Thanks so much! (also I try to suck in my stomach and it feels like I physcially cant.. sorry it's weird to explain)

Sandy that sounds like one of my earliest symptoms. I'm now 22 weeks and when I first found out I was so sluggish. I was out of breath after about 1 block, and my legs physically felt very heavy. I live in Philly so I walk alot also, and I just thought I was getting sick, but it turned out I had a little one in there. Good Luck to you and I really hope you are Pregnant!

It was one of my symptoms to. Im in the navy so i work out alot and i would run for about 5 mins and i felt like i was going to pa__s out! Now i just walk but i was told to monitor my heartrate and make sure it does not go over 140 so if you think yours is you might want to make sure you can slow down a little!!

I work at a job where I stand most of the day and I honestly felt like my legs turned to jello and I was getting dizzy. I also had a weird metallic taste too. Good luck. Have you tested?

I have not tested yet. AF due Feb 8th. If I conceived it would have been the 20-27 give or take. I am trying only to focus on the signs that are very out the ordinary and can't really attribute to other things. I have crazy cycles to be honest but this is first month every my body and self just "feels diff". But again b/c I don't want to make mind over matter I only try to focus on the very "diff" things. For instance about 3 nights ago I got AF cramps (which I never get 2 weeks before) and they were tolerable but very annoying for about 3 hours and it even hurt down there. I laid down and woke up and its fine. I hiccup a lot, have a lot of gas... I feel nausea a lot and dull head aches, tingling and head rushes now and again... and I just can't walk fast. Its like my legs and lower tummy are heavy holding me down. I feel pinchy twinges now and again inside my tummy. Oh, plus the bloody taste in my mouth and some times excessive saliva. I'm very excited and bothered non the least with this because they signs are hopefully a blessing. It's such an amazing thing feeling these changes but then again, at the same time, if I am not, well let me tell you something def. got fertilized and shot some hormones out to say the least.. I just hope it implanted :)

One more thing... as weird as this sounds I keep wanting to taste the metallic taste and some times its not as much than others, for example when I eat fruit it seems to mask it for a little while. I imagine things such as the "metal taste" may come and go or just stop- not necc meaning n e thing wrong right? O gosh, here I go... haha. And thanks again ladies. This forum is so wonderful to have all this support.

I am 7 weeks. About a week before i was suppose to start i got the same cramps but nothing ever came the nurse told me it was my uterus growing for the first time and it was normal as long as there was no blood and it didnt stay with me for a long time they would just come and go. I never got any taste in mouth but i did have to pee alot!! I also got really dizzy when i stood up quick or for to long but water helped alot. I had gas and constipation to (tmi). And nausea all day!! If i was you I would just try to take it easy and see what happened then test asap!!!!!!

as for the cramping it only occurred that night and it felt like af cramps but they were not only lower tummy but 'down there'... as for the af type cramps I get twinges of them every now and again for a few seconds. does n e one know how come it mimics af cramps so much (stretching or implantation- if that was what happened the first night I had them, as described above) now it feels a little bloated but more so as if I pulled a muscle and it gets tight and heavy when I walk faster. sound familiar?

Hi Sandy, no I didn't get the metallic taste but that is a very common early symptom. I did experience the AF type cramps for about 1 week before my missed period and 2 weeks after. I was sure that AF was coming and that was the reason for the cramps ( which were sometimes quite intense ) but then after I didn't get it, I took a test about a week later. Actually come to think of it, I had cramps for longer than 3 weeks, they lasted for a long time during my first tri. Also I would look for food aversions. Like even before I found out, I had gone out to dinner with my best girlfriend for her birthday, and we went to a buffet and half of the food looked horrible to me. Now I am a good eater and I usually get the most out of a buffet, even though I'm kinda small, but I only had 1 plate and it had to be cold food that had no smell to it. That made me think that maybe I was pregnant. So again, good luck to you and you may be able to get an early test if you are anxious.
