Splenda

Anyone hear any advice on avoiding splenda for any reason? I had a strawberry flavored water drink today, and only after I had consumed 3/4 of it, did I see it said "Sweetened with Spenda". I'm a little worried now. Should i be? thanks!

Splenda is fine. Sweet & low is ok, in moderation, same with Equil. No worries, mama.

Splenda is made from real sugar so my book says that this is the best sugar subst_tute to have. But I would avoid all the other "fake" stuff but not enough study has been on them.

Limit all artificial sweetners. They just don't know enough about their effects.

I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THAT SPLENDA IS OK IN MODERATION. ALMOST EVERYTHING IS MADE WITH IT NOW.

Hi Renee, I really wouldn't worry...I use sweeteners once in a while as well...I don't think that what you do once in a while matters - on this front, anyways...Apart from that how many other food stuffs are there (not to mention drinks!) that you consume during an average day and you have no idea what's in them exactly, unless you go organic and cook everything yourself...So put your mind at ease and just think of the countless millions of other people that bore healthy children - I'm sure most people don't pay half as much attention to their diets as most of us here on the forum...Having said that, I believe that it is a good conscious choice trying to limit artificial sweeteners in your diet...Best of luck to you!
