I have been having u/s on a weekly basis but i have been bleeding from a hematoma i am 10 weeks the baby is absolutely fine its me thats the problem. But I do believe that unless there are problems they wont do an u/s unless you havent had one yet. It sounds like since its your 1st appt you might have have did you call and ask them what to expect during the 1st appt. I havent even had the initial pap yet or blood work since i have had the bleeding. But I go on Feb 9th.

Were there problems with your first pregnancy? If so, that may be why, just to make sure all is well this time...

I had an ultrasound done at my first appt. because we were unsure about the exact due date. At that time i was 9 weeks and 6 days, only 4 days off from what we were thinking. So the doctor may do one if the due date is unsure. Oh and they did mine transv____aly, that kinda took me by suprise but i got an awsome picture of my little one.

I had a ultrasound done at 6 and 7 weeks, but that is because I was bleeding and I too had a v-ultrasound. My doctor said they usually do not perform ultrasounds until 8 weeks but because of my history I was able to reasure myself for a while...now my m/s is starting to kick in like every other day..ugh only a few more weeks of it and hopefully it will be done in the second trimester... I am sure you will be just fine. Keep us posted on your appointment.

i had an ultrasound at 6 weeks (v____ally) to rule out ectopic pregnancy and twins. There's only one in there and I got to see it's little heart beating. Pretty neat.

The Dr. I had with my last always does an ultrasound with your first visit, he wants you to be 10 weeks, but the Dr. I have now doesn't do it the first visit. I guess they are all different in how they do thier practice.

I had one at 9 weeks 4 days with my 1st pregnancy, it was just to date the pregnancy for an accurate due date.
