Urgent Care Visit

I went to the urgent care yesterday because for three days I had been spotting a brownish discharge or old blood and I was scared thinking where could this old blood have come from. The dr there did not do an ultrasound but he did do a visual pelvic examine and said that I had allot of build up of the old blood in there and that it could be from the implantation bleeding, but I am 6 weeks pregnant could it still be in there? He also said that my cervix is completely shut with no signs of any opening. . .so is this a good sign of not having a miscarriage?

Thanks Ekay, I will see about getting in, but do you think it is a good sign at least that the cervix is closed?

It's definately a good sign that your cervix is closed and I think the reason they didn't do a u/s was becuase there would be no heartbeat at 6 weeks. Is that 6 weeks on a 40 wk or 38wk pregnancy? But rest a__sured that as long as you don't have any cramping and bleeding at the same time your baby is doing fine. But to ease your mind a visit to your own dr. doesn't hurt.

Thanks Tara, I am still having some light spotting of brown discharge/old blood, but the urgent care dr did tell me that I would get that for maybe another week or even two. I have no major cramps, just some uncomfort in my lower abdomin, like I feel something sitting there just in the way :0). But no bleeding along with that, and I hear from allot of people that the uncomfortness is VERY common. Is this correct, and I am on the right path? Thanks

the umcomfertness is common I had that on and off. You are on the right path for sure. ;o) I was worried alot during this first pregnancy, because my last one was m/c. But I try to stay as calm as possible and get a lot of rest. It's important to save as much energy as possible so your baby can grow. ;o)

You might not be able to see a heartbeat at six weeks, depends on the strength of the machine. I saw a heartbeat for my 2nd at 6 weeks which is why I suggested it. I agree with Tara, it is a very good sign the your cervix is closed. Try and rest and keep us posted.

Thank Ekay and Tara for your responses. . .makes me feel allot better. I work full time and my fiance has three kids at home, so I kick my feet up here at work and try and stay off them, because when I get home there is no way. .haa ha
