UTI At 9 Weeks I Am Really Worrried

I found out that I had a UTI without any symptoms by a regular screening. I don't know how long I had it, and I am actually start to have symptoms as I am 5 days after taking antibiotics, and my urine still looks cloudy. My baby is smaller than 9 week, more like a 8 week fetus. I am worried about that my UTI is resistant to antibiotics, or it is going to persisit and reduce the growth of my baby. Does anyine had a similar experience that can share. I will be less scared if I know what is going to heppen to me and my baby. This is my first preganancy, and I am a working mom-to-be. Thanks a lot!

HI Light house. If there is one thing I know it is UTI's. I get them frequently when not pregnant, and had three during my first pregnancy. While it is important that they are treated as soon as possible, almost all of them respond to antibiotic treatment as long as you stay on it for the full course of the treatment. Do not stop early if your urine clears! I don't believe a UTI can affect the growth of your baby. I do know that a UTI that goes untreated can spread to your kidneys, and can cause premature labour. So my advice would be to stay on the antibiotic, and within a couple of days of being done, get your urine rechecked to be sure the problem is cleared. Best of luck and congrats on your baby!
