When Are You Announcing

I'm not sure when I want to announce to co-workers, friends, and family that I'm pregnant. I really don't want to tell my boss before I tell my family, but I'm sure I'll eventually be asked to do something I can't, or I'll just appear sick. I won't even be 5 weeks until Monday, and with it being so early on, it's really something we would like to keep to ourselves right now. A woman I work with has had two miscarriages in the past year, one of them happened about a month ago, and it seems a bit awkward. I kind of want to wait until I'm around 12 weeks.

I was 6wks when I told my family & friends. I couldn't contain myself! I was 14 wks when I told my boss. Luckily I never had morning sickness so nobody noticed anything.

i'm in my 7th week, and i'm not telling my boss until end of Oct or beggining of Nov that would be anytime between 10-12th week. I don't think it's any of their business if something happens....and i'm not even tellling my full family until that time. right now i've told my mil and bil, sister, and three friends. other than that, i haven't even told my own mom....that's cuz she'd tell my dad and he'd tell all my aunts and uncles....so just going to have to wait a while before telling her.

That's one of the things, if something DID happen it would be a very personal thing that I really would only want shared between my husband and I. I'm just afraid that someone I work with is going to ask me to lift something heavy or something like that and I'll have no give an explination as to why I can't. I don't think they would just take 'no' for an answer. I've only told one friend of mine, not family, and that was because I had a little spotting after having s_x and knew she had the same thing happen to her so I wanted to ask about it. I also don't really want people bugging me about it all day. Sometimes people treat you like being pregnant is a disability or they're always asking questions lol.

lol, i kind of like the extra attention from my friends. but that's because i'm the person that usually does teh heavy lifting and running around. if someone asks you to lift something heavy tell them that you have a bad back it's been hurting lately. I had to mind a booth for a tradeshow last week, and that's exactly what i said and did. mind you the next i woke up and had really pulled my back muscle....from not from lifting from sleeping wrong.

Haha that's funny. I guess the hurt back excuse would work for a few weeks. I've been on vacation all this week so I could easily fake an injury like a pulled muscle.

yep jsut say you slept wrong. it actually works. but i wasn't even faking lol. I find lately that i'm tired in the afternoon that's when i want to sleep. but at night i can't sleep. i toss and turn and sleep in different direction....that's how i think i pulled my muscle. honestly, i was tossing and turning and my pillow was a mess and i woke up to really bad pain. oh well, it now will help if i ever have to lift anything heavy i can say that now.
