I just got married 01-08-05....found out I was pregnant on 01-14-05...my last regular period was on 12-15-04....I found a due date predictor online and put in the december date and it said that i am around 5 wks. pregnant...the info is going through now to get me on my husband's insurance so I should have it by next week....when should I make a Dr. appointment?

I would wait until you get your insurance squared away, if you call now, the insurance may say it is a pre-exsisting condition. But do start taking prenatal vitamins until then.

They usually dont like to make appointments until you are at least two months, at least thats what I have been told. I made my first appointment when i was 9 weeks. Jenny is right, wait til your insurance is taken care of, and until then I would pick up some prenatal vitamins. The vitamins made me ill, and I was unable to take them during my pregnancy, if they make you ill and you dont know what to do, you can take flinstone vitamins instead.

Congratulations! How incredible! I know this sounds awful and I could go to h--- for saying this, but you may consider pushing back the date of your last period a couple weeks, just so you don't have any problems with insurance. Call the doctor anytime, they will schedule you when they want to see you. Good luck.

Hi Melissa! I was kind of curious, do you have a job that offers insurance?? I've been trying to do the same, my husband has excellent insur. where it will cost a little more with mine for delivery/nursery care, I wasn't sure if insurance companies would allow me to sign on since we're expecting?
