HI GIRLS I AM A CERTIFIED NURSES ASSISTANT AND I HAVE TO LIFT ANYWHERE FROM 75-300LB PEOPLE. I AM 8.5 WKS NOW, SOULD I GET A DOCTORS NOTE AND COLLECT DISABILITY INSURANCE, OR CONTINUE MY JOB? NOW I JUST HAD A MISCARRAGE IN AUGUST OF 2006, SO THAT'S BEEN ON MY MIND TOO.

I think that you should keep working and if your job requires it then also get a note from your doc that restricts your lifting. Since you are a CNA they should be well aware of the limitations of a pregnant woman and hopefully they will be willing to work with you and a__sign jobs that are within the safe area for you. When baby gets closer and is actually here you will have tons of time off of work, so personally, I would stay at work.

i agree..i'm a ma__sage therapist and my job is very physical also. i have huge men that i have to give deep tissue and sports ma__sage too and that's hard work. but i'll keep working until i can't do it anymore. my back is killing my lately, so i'll lighten my load or ask not to have deep tissues on my shift. see what your boss's will do for you in limiting your lifting as squished suggested.

at only 8.5 weeks i would be very surprised if you doctor signed you out. you should be fine, just know what you can and cannot do. if you are used to doing the lifting then it is not a shock to your body so you are ok.
