Worries About Miscarriage

I was just kinda looking for some reassurance really. I am 6 weeks pregnant and just really concerned as there seems to be a lot that goes wrong and I still have 6 more weeks to go until I am safe. Terrified baby wont get a heartbeat or is eptopic. I feel sick but am not being sick, am really very moody, but if i wake up with no symptoms i really panic. This is my 1st. Can anyone help.

I feel the same way but I am trying to stay positive. This is also my first and I start my 8th week today. My symptoms come and go but I am trying to be as positive as I can. Remember that there is approximately an 85% chance that this baby will be just fine and those are pretty good odds. I also like to think about all of my friends who have had healthy babies and no problems whatsoever. I am just anxious for my first appt. on 03/25 - my Dr. said that he will order an u/s and I just hope that they can do it that day. I will be 9 weeks at that time and I really just want to see the heartbeat because we are waiting for that to tell anyone, including family.

p.s. is it a negative if symptoms come and go or are less on one day than another?

I really don't know about symptoms coming and going but I have read on these boards that that does happen to some women. Also, some have virtually no symptoms with their pregnancy. I think it's normal because your hormones levels are varying. How far along are you? I wish that I could be of more rea__surance but I am so new to all of this, too. Still, it's nice to know that others feel the same way.

My best advice is to stay away from those pregnancy books all they do is make you worried. Read a fun book like "Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" and state any concerns with your doctor.

Just wanted to add my imput... With my first pregnancy I felt great. No symptoms at all... I really felt good and beside my belly getting big I would have never thought I was preggo. I am about 7 weeks and feel awful. Very tired, cramps, constipation, and always feel like Im going to barf.lol Not cool. It even hurts when I cough and sneeze and I cant sleep. Your symptoms may come and go and you may feel really good one day and like c___p the next. As far as miscarriage goes once they hear the heart and see the baby you chances drop alot. I just talked to my mid wife about this on Friday. Try and think positive and try not to stress. Enjoy your pregnancy from begining to end. Good luck ladies!

Wow I know what you mean - I am almost 6 weeks too and some days I don't feel anything, and some others I feel totally tired and moody... I keep reading about miscarriage happening in 1 out of 5 women and that is not rea__suring to me but like the other mommies said, once they hear the heartbeat, your chances of mc drop a ton. I am just anxiously awaiting our appt at 9 weeks... 3 weeks to go!

so nice to know other people feel like this! I am only 6 weeks and 2 days so still a long while to go! Have very odd feelings in abdomen every now and then! Feel very sick but am never really sick. My mum says not to read too much as it only makes you worry, which is true i guess..too many facts and figures. Sophie..at least we have got to 6 weeks hey! All of your input is great and so good to read! keep writing!x

I had a m/c last Nov, and I am now 7 weeks preggo. I share your concerns and fears, g. I had an ectopic back then and by 6 weeks I knew there was something really wrong. Spotting, cramps, and a serious gutt felling that something was not right. However, this time, I feel confident and positive that everything is ok, I have cramps and symptoms that come and go, but above all I have this strong gutt feeling that I am having a baby :) I am going with that, closing my eyes and trusting my instincts and what my body is telling me. :) A good preggo to you and enjoy every minute of it, I sure am :)

I am 5 weeks I am scared to death. I was diag. with PCOS in Jan. I have read that this increases the chances of mc. I have been cramping with alot of fluid. I also had pain in my right ovary. No spotting though. Anybody got any rea__surance.

Carol - March 14

I am just four weeks. We found out this weekend and I am also terrified of mc. I think that if I don't have symptoms then something is wrong. I also think if the cramping is somewhat painful - something is wrong!! I am also terrifed that my baby won't be perfect - some mental disability, physical disability etc. Does anyone just feel panicked???!!! I guess this is my hormones going crazy1

g - March 14

hormones do go incredibly crazy at 4 weeks..having just reached 6 wks i feel so much better! i found out at 4 weeks also! cramping im sure is normal, i have odd twinges all the time in both sides..this is just ur uterus stretching. Mom has told me the baby will feel this worry...we should try and relax and be positive..what will be will be right?

Carol - March 14

I have a cyst in my uterus (nothing to worry about, very normal occurence) and the doctor told me that it may become sensitive when I get preggo. I got preggo and have sharp pain on one side - saw the doctor had and u/s done and yep - the cyst is a big enlarged compared to last time - normal. Nothing to worry about. See ... there are so many other things that can be happening to you, none related to your baby!!!

I just had a miscarriage two months ago and im pregnant agin but the doctor says if theres no blood no worries

My symptoms come and go with this pragnancy and I asked a

Oops : ) I asked a question on it and quite a few women responded saying that it was completly normal and to enjoy the days that you don't feel like c___p. : ) Also you mostly get out of the woods with the possibility of having a miscarriage once you have seen the babies heartbeat and that happens at 6-8 weeks normally. It is a drastic drop in the chances of having a m/c once you have seen that heartbeat. Good luck honey, and just try to enjoy the days that you wake up feeling good.
