Hi Ladies... I was officially diagnosed PG yesterday (*yippee!**) and my regular DR told me that none of the OB/GYNs are taking pregnant people before the 2nd trimester. Is this normal, or does that sound alarming to anyone else???? First baby, really excited, and would really love to have a relationship and advice with and from an OB/GYN. What are your thoughts??

Absolutely not. Go ahead and call and schedule an appt with your obgyn. You need to find out your edd and have your tests performed. Goodness, I would considered finding a new doctor.

I would definitely find an ob gyn who would take you before hand. My doc did not want to see me until about 9 weeks pregnant, but at that time an ultrasound was done, an internal, blood work, and a going over of the family history. I have never heard of a doc waiting that long. Good prenatal care is important.

ELS, Rachael... Thank you so much for confirming what I was thinking! My regular Dr. is calling around to find an OB/GYN (I don't have one yet) that will take me right away, and I have a friend at the hospital near me that is going to try and get me in also. I am hoping that they are both successful!! Thank you so much...

My blood test was done at a clinic and my first OB visit was scheduled at 12 weeks. At this appointment, they just listened to the baby's heartbeat with a Doppler. My first ultrasound is at 19 weeks, this Friday.
