Afraid Of Exams

I am going to my first prenatal appt on Friday and I am terrified of having the internal exams done. I know this may sound silly to some but I have always had a problem with this. I'm scared that the doctor wont be able to do the exam and will become angry with me for this reason. I need some advice on how to handle this situation.

I was always scared of internal exams until my first pregnancy. I wasn't unable to have them done, I just hated it and I didn't want some stranger seeing me like that. When I got pregnant, I didn't feel like I had a choice anymore, because it wasn't just my health at stake, it was the baby's health too. That got me through the first one. They didn't do anything else down there until I was actually in the hospital and they were trying to induce. (That's not typical, I had my baby early). By the time I was done having my baby, I didn't have any more issues with it...it was like so many people had already seen it/checked it that it didn't matter anymore. I don't know if that helps or not.

I felt the same way! My doctor always asked me to get a pap smear done when I got my BC prescription refilled, but I always put it off. I just had my first internal 2 days ago, and it really wasnt that bad. The nurse talked to me a bit, and I just kept thinking, im having a baby:) and that helped me stay calm, lol
