Are you allowed to take antihistamines during pregnancy? My allergies were sooo bad yesterday i broke down and took one... the box said consult with your physician - but did not say not to take them. Anyone else suffering from allergies this season?

I would ask your doctor. It's amazing what you're allowed to take these days.

You can take Benadryl allergy OTC. It is pregnancy category B, very safe just like Tylenol.

I took benadryl when I had a horrilbe sinus infection w/ my preg. That was 7 years ago so ask your doc. You know how things change year to year. Feel better soon!!! : )

Definatley check with your Doc. Antihistamines I think affect your white blood cells. I'd be very dubious of taking anything, especially something that affects your blood.

Benadryl is safe during pregnancy. I took it throughout my first pregnancy, and my daughter is perfectly healthy. Your doc might be more comfortable with you taking it after the first trimester, though.
