Am I Eating The Wrong Things

I haven't really changed my diet since finding out I was pregnant (now 35 weeks). I have tried to eat more fruit and vege but I have to say, I haven't cut out chocolate or crisps. I have at least 1 or 2 chocolate bars a day and a packet of crisps. I basically just eat what i feel like. Can anyone tell me whether all this junk food might somehow affect my baby or is it more likely just going to affect me?

As long as you are eating healthy stuff along with all that tempting junk food, you're baby should be ok. Babies take whatever nutrition they need, then leave the rest for you. It'll just take you a bit longer to get back into shape after the birth, that's all. Unless you're one of those really annoying people who can scoff chocolate all day and never put on weight. :) My husband is one of those and it drives me crazy!

All I can say is "Thank God for prenatal vitamins". I'd be a nervous wreck without knowing all those nutrients are going to your baby!

you're only hurting yourself. your body will give all the good stuff to the baby and leave you all the garbage. if you're healthy and in shape then you should be fine. there are routine blood tests that will alert you to any nutrition problems. it all depends on your metabolism and how well your body breaks down fats and sugars.

Having junk will not effect the baby but you can gain alot of weight by not eating health. I eat junk and in the last month I have gain 20pounds and I am 28 weeks. My baby weight is 2pounds now.
