Am I Wrong To Feel This Way

HELP ME - January 25

Ok I am pregnant with my first child and I am very nervous. I have read a lot and I want my child to have the very best. Here's my problem- The though of anyone other that my husband, my mother and my sister touching my child makes me ill. I absolutely vomit at the thought of my friends or other family member spreading germs or doing things I disaggree with. For instance I believe you should only speak good english to a child no baby talk. I think it helps develop language skills. I also don't want anyone to let the baby suck on their finger and I have seen my husbands relatives do that with other infants. Or kissing my baby on the lips. It spreads Germs. Well I was talking with my friend and she got mad that I don't want hospital visitors or anyone touching my baby for a few months. Is it okay to be protective?

I think it's natural to be protective, but honestly that is being a bit over protective - however like I said, i think it's totally normal for some mothers. one of my best friends didn't like anyone holding her baby for the first few months but now that he is crawling and wanting others to pick him up she can't do anything about it...and sometimes I feel bad for her, because i can see she is hurting when he does that. So to be easy on your self later on try to be open minded. You can always ask people nicely to wash thier hands & stuff, but your baby needs to build a strong emune system and if you protect him/her too much from the outside world he/she will have a harder time when older and gets sick.
