There is a concern about infection on animal bites- antibiotics can be taken if an infection is suspected, call your doctor. Cleaning cat feces (not usually dog) can be dangerous if Toxoplasmosis is present. If you have a cat with a litter box either have someone else clean it or if that is not an option, use rubber gloves and make sure to scoop it out every 24 hours washing your hands well after. Evidently the parasite sheds after 24 hours and handling prior to that should not pose a threat. You can also get Toxo from undercooked meat. Call your doctor if you're not clear, they should have covered all this with you on your first prenatal visit. Good luck and congrats!
