I have absolutely no idea what is and isn't safe for the baby now that I'm pregnant. I get hungry sometimes but I don't get a chance to eat anything so I stay hungry for a few hours usually. I know that baby needs nutrition so should I just say to h__l with everything else and eat?? I don't know if it will effect the baby if I don't. And also when it comes to drinking water, that's all I drink but I still can't drink 8-10 glasses a day. Do I need to make myself? I know nothing about this and I'm really scared.

1st, Congrats. 2nd- YOU MUST EAT, I don't care if it's bread, please eat. MY daughter was 3lbs., 3 oz. when she was born. I never was the type to eat a lot but when pg, you can't think about yourself. The baby needs nutrition and make sure you take vitamins. Water is very important, even if you drink 4 gla__ses a day to start, drink water. Good luck.

You really should eat. I didn't eat much with my first and he was 5lbs,6oz at birth. Not as small as LadyD's but still small. I'm not sure what you ment to hell with everything else and eat. But if you ment your shape or weight don't worry you will get it back. With my second I gained 63lbs. and was back down to 110 in about 6 months. Don't be scared but do try to eat for your baby.

I have heard that it is the mom who suffers when she doesnt eat because the baby will take everything that it needs from you. I dont think that eating has anything to do with the babies size. I gained 45lbs and had a 5lb baby. My cousin gained 12 lbs and had a 6lb baby...as long as your not starving yourself on a daily basis putting off or skipping a meal wont hurt you.

Hannahbaby, I think you are right. I gained about 12 lbs, after birth lost about 18 and the most I've ever weighed is 125 lbs. I looked like Olive Oil..lol. The mom does suffer more, I think but I don't think it's ok to skip a meal, maybe skip a snack, but meals, I disagree.
