My hubby and I have three rabbits as house pets, so went with a bunny theme in our nursery. Toys R Us had some adorable wallpaper border with bunnies on it, so we put that up. At the baby showers, I got a ton of bunny stuff and really didn't have to spend much money other than the wall paper. We didn't go overboard, but it is rather cute if you ask me. For paint colors, we did two walls a very pale yellow, and two a pale lilac. We're having a girl next Wednesday (I'm overdue and going to be induced.)

Also, to save money, we used things that we already had, such as curtains and a touch lamp, instead of spending tons of money. Baby lamps are very cute, but they were $50-60! And curtains are always pricy, even at Walmart. I was lucky to have extra on hand that are nice and work in the room, the curtains are an offwhite and heavier, which is good for winter. We also had a couple of shelves kicking around that we put up, instead of buying new.

I am painting a mural in my nursery. I decided to go with a "magical, enchanted, fantasy" theme. I am painting the ceiling like a nightsky... having it melt ito daylight on the walls. I am painting stuff like flying pigs and knomes, fairies, unicorns, luck dragons, b___terflies, anything beautiful and magical... I'm going to turn it into a little fantasy land.... its going to be so much fun! I was considering doing a "nursey rhym" nursey... using the nursery rhymes... you can easily print out the rhyms and pictures to go along with them, frame them... hang them... voila... instant nursey. I was considering a "garden" nursery... lots of b___terfly, ladybug, flower things out there... Under the sea theme... lots of stuffed animals and cool things you could hang from the ceiling... good eye candy for the baby...paint the walls blue... I dunno... I get all creative...

That sounds awesome Christi! I wish I had more talent to paint like that, I would have loved to do something like that.

Beatrix Potter has a lot of cute nursery stuff. Even though my kids don't know who they are yet, the characters from the book are really sweet looking.

I had winnie the pooh LOL. now my toddlers are 2 and 3 and share the room, i decided to stick with winnie the pooh as my toddlers loves them. i painted a huge life size tigger on top of my sons bed and a life size winnie the pooh on top of my daughters bed. i think i may make my own border instead of biuying it. painting small b___terflie/honeyjars/bees all around. my hubby is a drawer. and i love painting, so its working out good.
