Anybody Ever Need Surgery During Pregnancy

I am not sure if I am pregnant yet but I am pretty sure. I need to wait a few days to do an hpt. My eye sight has gotten terrible over the past year and I finally went to the Dr. last week. I was told that I was the youngest person that he has ever seen with cataracts and the only way to fix them was surgery. I am afraid if I wait another 9 months I won't be able to see at all. Has anyone had surgery during pregnancy and was everything ok?

I actually went in to have surgery and found out I was pregnant. It had to be postponed, but was told if it had to be done it could be safe after 12 weeks. Women have surgery all the time while pregnant, but only in desperate cases becauses the surgeons do not want to be at risk for being sued if something goes wrong in the pregnancy thereafter.

Thanks Audrea. What a way to get the news! Were you expecting that you might be or did you have no idea? I will need to see what the Dr. says. I don't know if my sight will get worse slowly or not.
